It's still a great option for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works while you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. It's also quite expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and some additional cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors.
